Work Description
Replacing cast iron pipes with pvc pipes and running a main building sewer line to the city. Per contractor agent The project involves replacing an aging cast iron plumbing system located beneath the home by tunneling under the foundation. This method allows access to the existing sewer lines without the need to disturb or remove interior flooring. A tunnel will be carefully excavated beneath the structure to expose the old cast iron pipes which have likely deteriorated over time due to corrosion scaling and potential cracking. Once exposed the outdated cast iron piping will be removed and replaced with new durable PVC piping. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is resistant to corrosion has a longer lifespan and provides improved flow efficiency compared to cast iron. The new system will be installed to meet current plumbing codes and ensure reliable wastewater drainage. In addition the property will be transitioned from an outdated backyard septic system to the municipal sewer system. This will involve connecting the new PVC plumbing to the city sewer line ensuring proper alignment grading and compliance with local regulations. The septic system will be properly abandoned according to code. This upgrade will provide a more efficient low-maintenance and environmentally compliant wastewater solution for the home. The job will take place in the front side of the house and underneath.
