DigPermit gives you searchable access to building permit records pulled from public government sources. Use the site responsibly, pay if you upgrade to Pro, and follow the rules below. If you cannot agree to these terms, do not use the service.
DigPermit is operated by Sam Ojling. Reach us at hello@digpermit.com.
You need a valid email to sign in. Sign-in is password-less and uses a magic link. You are responsible for keeping access to that email secure. Tell us right away if you think someone else got into your account.
One account per person. Do not share sign-in links. Sharing or selling account access is grounds for termination.
The free tier lets you search permits and unlock a limited number of owner names per month. Pro is paid and unlocks unlimited owner reveals, same-day permits, CSV export, and unlimited alerts. Pro pricing, limits, and benefits are listed on the pricing page and may change. If we raise the price for an existing subscriber we give at least 30 days notice by email.
Pro is billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not refund partial months unless we made a clear mistake, in which case email us.
Permit records on the site come from public government sources. We do our best to ingest them faithfully but the upstream data can be late, wrong, or missing fields. Treat permits as leads, not as legal records. Always verify against the source before making a business or legal decision.
We do not guarantee uptime, completeness, freshness, or that any particular city or record will keep being indexed. Cities change their systems and sometimes we lose access.
You can:
You may not:
If you abuse the service we may rate-limit you, block you, terminate your account, and report you to the relevant authorities. We do not owe you a warning before doing so.
Feedback, saved searches, alert configurations, and anything else you submit stays yours. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host and use it for the purpose of running the service. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share.
The site design, code, copy, indexing pipeline, and brand are ours. You may not copy or republish them without permission. The underlying permit records are public information owned by no one in particular.
You can delete your account anytime by emailing hello@digpermit.com from the address on your account. Deletion removes your account, alerts, watches, and saved searches. Payment records are retained as required by tax law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that have not been used in a long time, or that we cannot keep serving for operational reasons. If we terminate a paid Pro subscription for a non-violation reason, we refund the unused portion of the current billing period.
The service is provided as is. We make no warranties, express or implied, about accuracy, fitness for a purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the prior twelve months and one hundred US dollars.
If your use of the service causes a claim against us by a third party, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless against that claim, including reasonable legal fees. This does not apply to claims caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the competent courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer in the EEA, this does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
If we change these terms we update the date at the top. Material changes get an email to active users at least 14 days before they take effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new version.
