In the capitol hill historic district in the commission of fine arts jurisdiction area interior renovation of an existing commercial retail bank in a 3 story multi-tenant building. scope of work includes the following: demolition of light fixtures, workstation panels, portions of floor and ceiling finishes; and construction of new non-structural partitions, ceilings, power/data, relocation of existing office furniture, addition of new grab bars in restrooms, and modifications to electrical systems. the renovation is classified as a level 2 alteration according to the 2017 dc existing building code. therefore, the applicable compliance method is section 301.3.2 work area compliance method, along with the requirements outlined in chapters 5 through 13, especially chapter 8 of the 2017 dc existing building code for a level 2 alteration. no change of occupancy, no sf added, no increase in occupant load.
