This remodel is a garage conversion into a mother-in-law quarters; literally. the city is allowing me (see attached documentation) to convert the existing garage into living space, and build a new vehicle garage in front, effectively attaching our garage - in order to house my wife's mother, with special needs. this work will be done in two phases: phase i is the garage conversion, with no changes otherwise to existing lot coverage. the mother-in-law quarters: with a bedroom, bath, closet & bar. wall openings for 1 additional door and 2 windows will be needed. phase ii will be the new vehicle storage garage. this permit application is for phase i only.
