On January 25, 2026, a falling tree directly impacted the home's front porch, fracturing the concealed load-bearing wood beam and transferring catastrophic shock through the connected roof framing (rafters and decking) and the supporting wrought-iron columns beneath it. To safely restore structural integrity, we are proposing a full reconstruction of the impacted porch roof system. The scope of work includes temporary shoring, demolition of the compromised framing and iron columns, and the installation of two new anchored 6x6 pressure-treated corner posts. We will then install a newly sized structural header to accommodate the resulting 16-foot clear span and re-frame the damaged roof section with proper structural ties to ensure a continuous load path, finished with new 36” minimum safety guardrails. No change to existing building footprint. Home is to remain single family. THE HOLDER OF THIS PERMIT HEREBY CERTIFIES THAT ALL CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE WILL BE DISPOSED IN AN APPROVED LANDFILL. THE HOLDER OF THIS PERMIT ALSO CERTIFIES THAT NO CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION WASTE SHALL BE STORED ON THE PROPERTY IN VIOLATION OF ANY PROVISIONS OF THE METROPOLITAN CODE.
