Hd woodson high school is located at 540 55th street ne washington, dc 20019 on lot 26, square 5218. the site is bounded by nannie helen burroughs avenue ne to the north, marvin gaye park to the west, eads street,ne to the south, and 55th street, ne to the east. project is owned by the district of columbia and is zoned r-2. proposed work will be renovating an existing turf field built in 2011. the scope of work includes the replacement of the existing turf field, track resurfacing, and minor upgrades to the existing press box. the existing roof of the press box will be repaired to good working condition. the existing turf field underdrain system will remain undisturbed in place and provide drainage for the new turf surface. contractor will perform inspection and testing of the existing underdrain system to ensure it is functioning properly, and shall make repairs or replace in-kind any components that are found to be damaged or are non-functioning. based on meetings with doee the turf replacement will be exempt from stormwater management requirements. the synthetic turf surface on top of the sports field will be replaced in kind according to product specifications and is shown for reference only. no disturbance to the base or sub-base of the synthetic field is planned. the gravel base and choker stone will remain in place. the existing base and sub-base shall be inspected, repaired, replaced, and prepared as needed in order to meet the manufacturer's requirements for installation of new turf system. under dc's stormwater management regulations athletic field replacement is not considered land disturbance as no soil will be disturbed. land disturbance activities will be limited and will mainly consist of the construction staging and access areas. most of the remaining work will be performed over stabilized areas of the site. refer to erosion and sediment control plan for measures to be implemented. erosion and sediment control measures will consist of a filter sock and inlet protection.
