In the Commission of Fine Arts jurisdiction area We will perform a geotechnical investigation consisting of eight borings to 30 feet below grade and one boring to 12 feet below grade. If auger refusal is encountered shallower than 30 feet below grade we have allowed for up to 15 feet of rock coring at each location. Soil samples will be collected as a part of standard penetration testing (SPT) as borings are advanced. Rock core samples will be collected using an NQ-2 core barrel as boring are advanced. Upon completion of drilling, boreholes will be abandoned in accordance with Well Regulations 1818. A bentonite slurry (2 lbs bentonite powder to 1 gallon water) will be tremie-pumped into the borehole using a positive displacement method as the augers are withdrawn.
