Despite the pullback, several markets demonstrated significant growth in specific categories. Homestead, Florida emerged as the week's standout performer, with new-construction permits surging 700 percent to 8 filings compared to 1 the prior week. Madison, Tennessee followed with a 500 percent increase in pool permits, while Sugar Land, Texas saw new-construction climb 400 percent.
Direct-to-homeowner opportunities numbered 302 permits this week, with Washington DC commanding the largest share at 207 opportunities. Fort Worth, Charlotte, Chicago, and Queens each recorded 13 opportunities. Five permits valued above $56 million emerged from Miami and Manhattan, with a $164 million new-construction project on SW 7th Street in Miami leading the week's highest-value work.
Contractor activity concentrated heavily in South Florida and New York City. Owner-affiliated projects dominated with 252 permits primarily across Homestead and Miami, while Urban Intelligence, Inc. led independent contractors with 52 permits focused in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
